Anime Festival Asia 2009 – Part 4

November 27th, 2009 3 Commented

It was only 5pm and we had another one-and-a-half hour to spare before the concert started. We decided to walk around and catch a glimpse of various cosplayers outside the exhibition hall. I always find it difficult to take photos of cosplayers as it’s not easy to get them to pose for you at times. Anyway, I managed to blend with the crowd and snap along.

I think she looks pretty cool with that outfit of hers. Unfortunately, almost all her photos I took were all blurry. :(

I couldn’t see his face. He was making these cool poses all the while.

Here are some other photos of various cosplayers. Some of them were really kind to direct their gaze towards my camera.

I didn’t know that one of them is my ex-colleague’s girlfriend. Wonder which one? Keep guessing, it’s easy to tell. :)

These three young girls are kinda cute. The girl in the middle was very forgiving as there were many interruptions while I was doing the photo-shoot. I don’t understand why people kept walking in front of me. It wasn’t like they didn’t know people like myself were trying hard to take good photos.

These are last photos I took. I must admit that she is the prettiest cosplayer I saw on that day. The color of her hair and the costume matched her perfectly. She really did a good job! Thank you!

Finally, it was time to enjoy the concert. I didn’t have the chance to take any photos as photography and video-recording weren’t allowed. The superstars whom were that evening are Shoko Nakagawa, Miku Hatsune and Ichirou Mizuki.

  • Shoko Nakagawa, a.k.a. Shokutan, is multi-talented. She is an actress, a cosplayer, a voice actress, an illustrator, a manga-ka, an idol and a blogger.
  • Miku Hatsune is the world most popular virtual idol. Her Project Diva performance was, of course, an animation concert.
  • Ichirou Muzuki is a famous, highly prolific Japanese vocalist, lyrist, composer, voice actor and actor best known for his work on theme songs for anime and tokusatsu.

Finally, this is the last post for Anime Festival Asia 2009. It seems like I went to every booth and participated in every activity on that day. But in the actual fact, I did miss out a lot too. I didn’t manage to see the Regional Cosplay Championships and Animax Cosplay Make-up that were happening at the same time when we were patronizing the booths. Also, we missed out K-ON! Experience: Live dubbing/Q&A session which was held on the second day as I wasn’t free. I’d try to experience it! more in-depth next year in AFA10.

There’s many nice costumes. Including Klan Klang :)
I should do my first steps in cosplay by next year if everything go well :)
