I got this figure a month ago and I did some photo-shoots of her, Rei Ayanami, back then. However, I couldn’t find the time to sort the photos or write anything about her. Finally, I’ve got to do something since I’d taken a day off from work before flying off to Korea tonight. Also, it’d be good since I still have a few of them on the shelves waiting to be photographed.

Actually, I was kind of upset when I received this figure. The reason had nothing to do with the figure, it’s the box. I was quite furious when I found out the box was damaged. The box was dented at the corners and the side of the plastic had cracked lines. I tried complaining to the local and Hong Kong post office and they always give the same answer, “we will investigate.” If it wasn’t for the damaged box, I’d have a very nice transparent box. Anyway, life goes on!

This Rei comes with two hair which you can interchange, one without the any hair-clips (shown in the following photo) and the other with two hair-clips, one at each side.

I don’t really know much about Evangelion since I’m not their fan. I believe that it’s based on the animation, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone. However, the reasons that I bought this figure were this figure nicely sculpted (by 沼倉 としあき) and it was on discount (less about 20USD).

This is totally something new (a lying down pose) for me as most of the figures I own are standing upright. However, I found that her waist doesn’t look right to me. It was just too slim, I just find that very unusual. If you happened to look at her from the top view (which I don’t have any photos of that here), you’d know what I mean. Perhaps, I’m just being paranoid Anyway, on the overall, I like this figure a lot, she is great!

In fact, Evangelion figures have always been hot items (in addition to the fact that she is from Alter), especially figures of Rei Ayanami and Asuka Shikinami.

Hence, I’m glad that I saw, I ordered and I bought it!
