Miku Hatsune (World Is Mine) from GSC
Supercell feat. Miku Hatsune: World is Mine!
This figure came in early last month. I didn’t have the time back then because I was busy in my daily work life and, of course, I was trying to complete my posts on the Korea tour. Finally, I did some photo sessions with Miku Hatsune over the weekend.
When I opened the parcel, I didn’t like what I saw. The box, in my opinion, isn’t good looking at all. In fact, I find it rather ugly, probably due to some dents and worn out sides (see the picture below). My preference still goes along with Alter’s packaging. It’s so stylish, you can refer to the one on Rei Ayanami (though my box was damaged, thanks to our local postal service, SingPost).

This figure is manufactured by Good Smile Company. It is a 1/8 scale figure, approximately 220mm in height with stand and 180mm without stand. Sculpted by Sakurako Iwanaga, this figure comes in two versions, one with a natural frame and the other, with a brown frame (which is the one I bought).

Miku is detachable from the frame. However, once you put her on the frame, she will lie there firmly due to the magnetic technology employed. Therefore, collectors can use it as either a wall-mounted decoration or a leaning ornament
Let’s look at the base. It’s nicely sculpted I think. It looks natural in a sense that one may really mistaken it as a cloth.

The headphone is placed on the top right hand side of the base.

On the bottom right hand side, there are some sculpted flower petals.

The words “World is Mine” are clearly printed. There are many reviewers whom received the figure without the printed words. It’s kind of sad to hear about the poor quality control.

It was a sunny day. So, I decided to bring Miku out for some outdoor photography. We started off at the seaside. Relaxing on the clear sandy beach with an umbrella sheltering her from the scorching sun.

Look at her pair of beautiful legs.

Nothing else matters, only Miku as the center of attraction… World is Mine!

Next, Princess Miku was brought to a park where she enjoys the wonderful greenery.

With flowers to accompany her, she seemed to be in a world of her own now.

After a long day out, Princess Miku was back to her comfortable red-black checkered cloth to rest.

In conclusion, as you could already see, Good Smile Company does make beautiful figures (remember the Saber Lily figure that I posted a while back?), apart from those little cute nendoroids.

I see this figure with a better opinion now thanks to your photos. She’s lovely surrounded by sands and plants but Miku was always amazingly cute so it’s not surprising

She must take a lot of room with a “base” like that ?

Woah I love the outdoor shots especially the one with the umbrella
All she needs are some shades to complete the look!!

@Katsura-chan,
Glad that you enjoy the photo. Talking about cute. I know most of the Miku out there are cute. For this one, I thought I made a wrong choice for buying it. I didn’t like it initially because I couldn’t find the cuteness in her look. Probably it’s due to the fact that I got my Saber Lily and this Miku around the same time and I was biased. However, after some time, the more I look at her, I think she is okay and looking better and prettier everyday.
The base is big, but it’s not that space occupying because I’m, currently, displaying like a standing photo frame. I wanted to hang it on the wall, but I’d need to get a drill to do the work first
@chubbybots,
Thanks bro. I actually bought not only this umbrella but also a red handkerchief. I thought of making a man-made beach but it just took too much of my time (which I can’t afford to at this time). So, I brought her out. I used the red handkerchief as a picnic mat actually. But, the photo didn’t turn out good as the mat seemed too big for her. Also, it was too windy. The mat kept flying off….
ohhh another beauty for the collection! i have to agree with Katsura, these photos changed my view on this figure ^^ i like the shots with her and the red flowers, nice contrast in colors, but they are all really great shots
how will you display her? wall mounted sounds scary ^^;;

OMG…. you review is breaking my heart
When i think about the box with my Miku who’s lost for now 2 months …
Anyway…
Finally a review of Miku who stand out the crowd. I was a bit bored to see her always in it’s base set or on another tissue.
Thanks for those superb photos!
I like the one took on the beach with an umbrella and the writings on the sand! Very original.
Continue to surprise us like this!
I’m like you, i found the box awful. It made me think of old boxes from my grand-mother with soaps in it ^^

@rockleelotus
Thank you. I’m glad you like the photos. I happened to see those red flower (ixora) and thought that green and red are great contrast. Hence, that was how I got those shots.
Actually, I think wall mounting is kinda cool. Why does it sound scary? I trust the magnetic thingy actually. It’s very secure

@Lyli
Oh my gosh! What happened to your Miku? Lost in post? I thought EMS is track-able, at least that was what I heard or read from those online shops.
I’m really glad you find the photos nice. You are kind words are always an encouragement to me. Also, Lyli, you always inspire me. Thank you again. I’ll try to source for more ideas (I hope I could).
Thanks for visiting my lonely site!
I got this version of Miku as well, thought the natural frame didn’t match the darker scheme of the “bed”.
Liking the pics of the figure outdoor, I want to do some outdoor shots as well, but right now it’s in the middle of winter and there’s nothing but dead plants and snow where I am.
I’m so jealous of your nice weather! LOL

Thank you for visiting my site too. In fact, I like four-season country as I had only seen snow (one-day snow) once when I was in US. I kinda miss the snow scene. I’d do an outdoor snowy photo shoots if I were there
^ Yeah, for sure, I know what you mean. The grass is always greener on the other side. LOL I’ve seen so much snow, I’m sick of it – so tired of shoveling snow from the driveway.

@ Softz : It was shipped using SAL unfortunately. I have few chance to get it back one day…

@VF,
Yep, you are right. It’s our mentality. For us, we are complaining ’bout the hot weather here everyday. I guess I won’t mind shoveling the snow for you for few months
@Lyli,
I’m really sorry to hear that. At times, I don’t like trackless postal service but they are very much cheaper.
I love the shot on the beach with the umbrella. It’s very elegant and pretty.

@Yi,
Thank you. Glad that you like it.
beautiful, but she seems like an adult in this version.
like always, outdoor shooting gives the best lights.

@divinelight,
Thanks. Yep, she doesn’t look like her normal cute version.
I think outdoor shootings are easier. For indoor shootings, I lack many props and lamps.
Beautiful pics. Miku WIM looks good on anything. ^^
